Dr. Robert Raw is a past American Professor of Anesthesia and physician. He now lectures, publishes scientifically, and is an expert witness in anesthesia malpractice cases. He is licensed to practice internationally. His fascinating career path gives him an unusually broad and deep fused perspective of anesthesia, that is both very theoretical and very practical. He performed personal solo anesthesia for 25-years whilst training, teaching and introducing regional anesthesia in multiple countries. Prior to being an obstetric anesthesiologist he did rural general practice, personally delivering 700 babies of which in 150 cases he performed the Caesarean section. His experience however spans all surgery fields including pediatrics. He next took a full-time university appointment for 12-years, becoming full professor. He continued to teach internationally and introduced ultrasound guided regional anesthesia to the University of Iowa.
