Dr. Billy Thomas, the 2014-2015 regional anesthesia fellow at the Andrews Institute, performs bilateral utrasound-guided rectus sheath blocks for postoperative analgesia for an incisional ventral hernia repair. In this video Dr. Thomas discusses the indications for this block, annotates the basic sono-anatomy, and walks us through the block step by step. This patient spent less then 45 minutes in the PACU after surgery with pain scores of zero out of 10 and received zero narcotics.
