In this video Dr. Winchester uses a proximal to distal oblique approach to place an ultrasound-guided adductor canal catheter for postop analgesia in the left leg after a right sided ACL reconstruction revision with contralateral patellar tendon graft. The patient additionally had a right sided adductor canal catheter plus tibial block to treat the pain on the surgical knee. The bilateral adductor canal catheters allow quadriceps sparing in both thighs thus enabling excellent pain control and aggressive early rehabilitation.
Brandon Winchester performs a rescue adductor canal block in the mid-thigh to block the saphenous (medial) component of postoperative pain following an ankle arthroscopy.
Greg Hickman uses a cadaver leg and dye to demonstrate the extensive proximal and distal spread seen with an adductor canal block when just 10ml is injected.
Brandon Winchester demonstrates a modified adductor canal catheter technique for ACL reconstruction featuring an oblique needle angle from proximal to distal thigh. This modification allows the placement of the catheter preoperatively, and facilitates the threading of the catheter several centime...
