The Block Nurse Course at the Andrews Institute is a day and a half workshop focusing on introducing and developing the specialty of Regional Anesthesia nursing. The course follows a curriculum that is supplied to the student in textbook form and uses the nursing process to educate on the care of the patient receiving a peripheral nerve block. The course will combine lecture, power point, panel discussion and hands on clinical case studies to help develop the nurse attending the program. This course is geared towards the nurse who is currently working as a block nurse and those nurses looking to learn more about this emerging specialty and thus help develop regional anesthesia nursing programs at their individual institutions. It is a unique course not being offered anywhere else.
